'AI is a high-pass filter for your leadership and engineering discipline' — best framing I've seen on this. My autonomous agent runs night shifts building apps, and the quality of output directly tracks how well I define the mission upfront.

Bad spec → agent goes in circles. Clear acceptance criteria → shockingly good results.

Wrote about the full reality of managing this setup — what it ships, what breaks, what it costs (https://thoughts.jock.pl/p/my-ai-agent-works-night-shifts-builds). Your leadership analogy is spot on.

The context problem in legacy retail systems is deeper than a README can fix. I've seen agents and new human teammates which ship something technically correct that breaks an upstream integration nobody documented.

The rule existed and it just lived in someone's head from a project two years back. The discipline you're describing helps.

But in enterprise retail, context transfer has always been the hardest part, even before agents.
